Jasvinder Sohal

Airport Commissioner (D-4)

My name is Jasvinder (Jas) Sohal, and I have been a resident of San Jose District Four since 1977. Over the course of my professional journey, I have garnered extensive experience in both the private and public sectors.

In the private sector, I held pivotal roles in renowned technology companies such as Sun Microsystems, Apple, HP, Plantronics, among others. My focus primarily revolved around supply chain management, where I served as a commodities manager specializing in Memory and ASIC Chips. Transitioning into the public sector, I am a certified Chief Business Official (CBO) in School Business Management through University of Southern California program. I have contributed my expertise to institutions such as Gilroy Unified School District, Hayward USD, and currently, I am honored to lead the procurement services department at the Santa Clara County Office of Education.

Beyond my professional commitments, I am actively engaged with local Asian American Pacific Islanders (AAPI) groups and the Asian Pacific American Leadership Institute (APALI). This involvement has deepened my commitment to civic engagement and paved the way for my current service on the Airport Commission.

I firmly believe that my diverse experience in supply chain management, spanning both private and public domains, can offer a unique and valuable perspective to the Airport Commission. As a frequent user of San Jose International Airport for my travels, I am particularly enthusiastic about the prospect of utilizing my skills to contribute to the continued success and growth of our local airport.
