Project Description:
The Renzel Airfield Improvement Project is made up of several elements:
- Reconstruction of Taxiway "Y" between Taxiway "B"
and Taxiway "L”
- Approximately 9,000 feet of new concrete pavement, a new
taxiway-edge lighting system, infield drainage, guidance signs,
striping, and all other components to make the taxiway meet FAA
criteria
- Widening of Taxiway "Z" between Taxiway “G"
and Taxiway “L”
- New concrete pavement, edge lighting, drainage, guidance
signs, and components to make the taxiway meet all FAA criteria
- North Concourse Storm Sewer Relocation Project
- Construction of a 78-inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP)
storm drain line between Taxiway "G" and Taxiway
"L" including manholes and junction structures
- Construction of a 48-inch RCP at Taxiway "G“
- Construction of a 30-inch RCP between the 78-inch RCP and
the infield between Taxiways "Y" and "Z“
- Construction of an aircraft load-rated junction structure
on Taxiways “Z” at Taxiway “L”
- Additional Storm Drain Pipes to Adequately Drain All Infield
Areas
- Relocation of the Runway Distance Remaining (RDR) signs for
Runway 30R/12L
- Modification of Electrical Control and Power Systems to accommodate
the new taxiway signs and lights
As a result of the construction, Taxiways Y and Z will be closed
for the duration of the project. Runway 30L will remain open and
serve all commercial aircraft departures and arrivals, while Runway
30R will be utilized as a taxiway.
Bond sale proceeds, Airport Improvement Program grants, Passenger
Facility Charges (PFC) and Airport rates and charges fund the project.
No local taxes were used to fund this project.
