Community Involvement

Community input is a critical part of the Airport Improvement Program. Community meetings, focus groups, and surveys have been and will continue to be utilized to outreach to various user groups.

In January 2001, the Airport began an outreach effort on the Airport Improvement Program to the community. This effort brought forward the plans for future Airport development in order to receive feedback from the community. This outreach effort was then followed by the formation of the Airport Neighborhood Services Group (ANSG) in the Summer of 2001.

Since that time, ANSG has been outreaching to the community regarding the proposed plans for Mineta San José International Airport. ANSG has partnered with various groups and City of San José departments to speak about and receive feedback on the design of the new and improved Airport. This partnership has included the City’s Office of Cultural Affairs; the City's Department of Transportation; and the City's Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services – Strong Neighborhoods Initiative.

For more information, contact the ANSG at 408-501-0979 or communityinput@sjc.org.
