Sound Management
Committed to improving San Jose's quality of life, the Sound Management Group manages the impact of Airport noise on the community.

Acoustical Treatment Program (ACT):
The ACT Program strives to improve the living conditions of people residing in eligible areas near the San Jose International Airport by reducing the aircraft-related noise in their living spaces to meet Federal and State noise standards.
- Noise Monitoring Center: The Aircraft Noise Monitoring Center monitor's the aircraft noise impacts on the surrounding communities. The center maintains a database that records both aircraft operations and noise inquiries.

Airport Noise Advisory Committee (ANAC):
A public forum where the noise concerns of the community are acknowledged and responded to in a manner that balances concerns regarding airport growth and development.

Curfew Monitoring:
The noise-based curfew went into effect on October 21, 2003, following approval by the San José City Council.
